The work that involves refurbishment, alteration and extension of a historic building are very often listed building. We are experts at working with all grades of Listed Buildings.

 

We aim to unveil the potential of these buildings, making them suitable for new or changing uses, whilst respecting the important qualities they may have. This requires a careful examination of the existing structure, and an assessment of its potential for transformation.​​



Our approach will often be to express modern insertions into old buildings as distinct elements, whilst the original building fabric will be repaired using traditional building methods and materials. We prefer to work pro-actively and collaboratively with the Local Authority Conservation and Design Officers and English Heritage.
